We have secured funding help from the Coop Community Fund! The money you spend at the Co-op can now help us raise money for important work on our Village Hall.
How does it work?
If you’re not a member of the Co-op already, you will need to become one. As a member, you can appoint an approved Co-op Charity to benefit from your spending. Then, every £1 you spend at the Coop will donate 2p to your selected charity. This may not sound a lot but every little helps and some charities have received hundreds of pounds. Many a mickle makes muckle as they say north of the border.
If you are not a member joining is simple. Go to https://membership.coop.co.uk/new-registration. It will cost you £1 to join. Then, you will need to select us as the charity of your choice. Our cause number is 48643.
It may be that on joining you will automatically be sent a list of those charities in your local Co-ops’ plan
What will we spend the money on?
Following the fire safety report we need to make some changes and additions to the hall to maintain our certificate. Added to this are some minor outside works to finish off the renovation. All this needs an injection of some more money.
The period which we’re eligible is 12 months so please join today if you’re not already a member. As a member you will also get 2p for every pound spent.
So the more you spend the more we will receive! It does not have to be at a particular Coop. Anywhere, any spend on your membership at any Co-op will be eligible, even funeral plans!
One tip in time for Christmas the Co-op’s own champagne, Les Pionniers NV (non vintage) is well regarded and at £19 great value. For those of refined tastes its vintage version is £27. Both these are done for them by Piper Heidsieck.
Thank you so much for helping us out – please tell your friends and family so we can spread the word!
